Many public health professionals continue to feel overwhelmed and experience burnout due to juggling work and life under significant stress with COVID variants still in our midst and two years of health, social, economic, and political challenges that have impacted us all.
In this webinar, we will be joined by Jerard Holton, DrPH, LCPC,CEAP to discuss ways that public health professionals can look after their own mental health whilst providing support to their communities. We will cover developing coping skills and stress management practices which aim to help build individual resilience. There will also be time for Q&A and discussion. About Dr. Holton:
Jerard Holton, DrPH, LCPC, CEAP., is a multi-state, licensed clinical counselor with extensive experience in crisis intervention, employee assistance, and inpatient and outpatient settings. Dr. Holton’s previous work has included Oklahoma’s 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, a medical clinics’ director with Oklahoma’s only Level one trauma Hospital, and leading a behavioral health population management program with the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services. His educational background includes advanced work in employee burnout, retention, and job satisfaction strategies. Dr. Holton is an experienced psychotherapist who continues active clinical practice with first responders, including military, doctors, and nurses. He also contracts as a Disruptive Event Management & Critical Incident Responder and an employee assistance counselor. With 20 years of retired military service, Dr. Holton has applied a public health approach to community policing and has led large-scale government plans to mitigate catastrophes in international settings.
